Life as a Bug

Idea: I wanted to mimic what a bug sees as compared to a human so I did some research and found out that bugs see things as seperete pieces that are kind of shaped like hexagons and that they can see colors that people cannot. I wanted to shpw a person screaming and swatting the bug the way a bug would see it.

Materials: I used images from unsplash and google along with brushes and filters on photoshop

Process first I just scribbled all over the screen and filled the spaces in with random colors. Next I took different facial features, ears, eyes, nose, and mouth and spread them around the screen and fitting them to the color spaces using layer masks. next I put the multiply blending feature on them, merged all of the facial features, and spherized it to match the bugs vision. I took out the white gaps in between the facial features and used the crystallize filter to make it hexagonal. I put in grass, which I later took out, and a fly swatter which I crystallized and multiplied it onto the rest of the image. I think the development of this idea showed an adept synthesis of ideas and I really liked how this one turned out.
